How to maintain it?
Today, with the widest variety of textile fibers and materials, there are many ways to make maintaining of our textiles easier. From different detergents to tumble dryers. Nevertheless, when taking care of our natural textiles, many of these are not recommended to use. It is not about the mechanical characteristics (fibers, that are not corrupted by chemical processing are even durable), however, using common detergents might degrade the natural qualitites these fibers contain.
The natural manufacturing left our fabrics untouched by synthetically produced chemicals. By laundering in conventional detergents this quality fades away. Hence, we strongly recommend to use only natural/organic or at least ecological detergents when taking care of organic herbal textiles: you can purchase some of these (brands AlmaWin and Klar) here. But of course there are other choices you might prefer, such as soap nuts, or other natural soaps. The brands we chose - AlmaWin and Klar, caught our attetion by a comparable efectivity to convetional brands, but on the contrary they are friendly to the environment and fabrics.
Dyed fabrics are recommended to wash with similar colours for few first cycles, since some might loose exceeding dyes for a short time. Tumble drying is allowed for white fabrics. When drying, natural colours are sensitive to sunlight, thus always avoid it and dry dyed fabrics in shade.
